As a Registered Nurse in LLUMC's Medical ICU, I:▪ Administer whole-person, total care to critically ill patients in a 32-bed Medical ICU unit within a Level I Trauma Center▪ Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, continuously assess patient condition and test results, and promptly implement needed interventions to ensure desired patient outcomes▪ Educate patients and family members, advocate for patient and family needs, and utilize therapeutic presence to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction▪ Perform ICU bedside cares such as: -Safely administering/ titrating ordered medications through multiple routes -Assisting with bedside procedures -Performing wound care, dressing changes, bed baths, and post-mortem care -Managing/ troubleshooting arterial lines, CVC and PICC lines, ventilators, chest tubes, and PEG tubes -Participating in emergent situations such as Code Blues and Rapid Sequence Intubations (RSIs), utilizing closed loop communication and ACLS and BLS protocols

As a PCA-SNAP employee, I provided designated age-specific and developmentally appropriate patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). I also utilized interpersonal skills to maximize customer service and support excellence in safe patient care.

As a Clinical Research Coordinator, I worked directly with a psychiatric population to conduct clinical trials while using Good Clinical Practice (GCP) to deliver high quality patient data, coordinated subject visits and ensured that all procedures were conducted in compliance with the sponsor’s protocol, and utilized IRB-approved Informed Consent Forms (ICFs) to perform informed consent discussions, in conjunction with the study investigator, with subjects upon entering a clinical trial or when updates to a study requiring a new ICF were made. I also interacted with Clinical Investigators and research staff to ensure subjects received appropriate medical evaluation and care, maintained and updated patient charts, performed assessments such as medical history interviews, vital signs, and electrocardiograms (ECGs) on subjects participating in pharmaceutical sponsored clinical trials, and submitted all study relevant data to sponsor using approved electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs). I assisted in processing lab specimens, preparing laboratory shipments, and initiating and maintaining regulatory documents for clinical trials.

As an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator, I worked directly with a psychiatric population to conduct clinical trials while using Good Clinical Practice (GCP) to deliver high quality patient data, performed pre-intake interviews and evaluations of potential subjects, including obtaining medical and psychiatric history and reviewing eligibility based on inclusion/exclusion criteria, maintained and updated patient charts, temperature logs, and laboratory inventory (visit kits, packaging supplies, etc.), and obtained vitals and electrocardiograms (ECGs) from subjects participating in pharmaceutical clinical trials.

I met with patients before their appointments with the psychiatrist to input background information, current health and housing status, and any other relevant information into the electronic medical record for the psychiatrist to reference. I also administered caretaker burden surveys and Beck Depression and Anxiety Inventories to patients. This role helped me to better my ability to make a connection with patients, introduced me to the mental health field, and helped me realize that I wanted to go into a healthcare-oriented field.

As a student assistant, I updated databases and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, answered phone queries, welcomed students to ensure appointment fulfillment, helped ensure that events and workshops were well prepared and ran smoothly, and updated and wrote instructions for the Student Assistant Resource Manual.

As an intern, I observed biofeedback, neurofeedback, and QEEG/ Brain Mapping sessions, prepared and executed neurofeedback sessions on patients, and coached patients through computer programs for auditory processing and reading literacy.
