I created daily objective driven lesson plans for teaching English to non-native speakers using a variety of activities to appeal to different learner types in the classroom. I also tailored quizzes and projects to test students' use and retention of said classroom objectives in their English vocabulary, reading, writing, grammar, and speaking skills. Being an instructor in an intensive program at ELS, I logged over 4,000 classroom teaching hours in my three years there. As a result, my abilities to multitask, adjust lesson plans quickly, communicate effectively with students, as well as my general work efficiency all improved and enabled me to teach in a targeted but flexible manner.

I taught English to non-native speaking students one-on-one and in small groups. After initially meeting with students to discuss their needs and goals for improving their English abilities, I customized lessons to fit their hobbies, interests, and lifestyles and help them increase their overall comfort with using the language.

At Wesley-Taylor, my ambition was to introduce students aged three to five to social and cultural awareness in the classroom and the world outside. I planned and implemented lessons that met with the Ohio Department of Education standards set for each age group, met with parents to discuss progress, and attended ongoing professional development meetings in order to continually improve my childhood teaching skills.
