I worked temporarily as a dental assistant in place of their full time employee’s maternity leave. Me and the dental hygienist took turns taking the receptionist position varying on the times each of us would be with other patients. As a receptionist we would have to keep up with knowing what patients arrive. Making appointments, knowing how long to schedule each appointment to keep on schedule for the day. Knowing the patient balance and keeping track of how much they need to pay before insurance. We kept up with insurance payments and EFTs and applying them. Dental assisting included setting up each procedure and having a back up tray for any other instruments possibly needed. Proper sanitation procedures for instruments in autoclave and for the room. Keeping up with the dentist and assisting in all procedures, helping suction, knowing and keeping up with the steps in most procedures with patients. Being able to properly mix all impression materials and placing it properly in the mouth, then sending the lab sheet and impressions to the lab. I made sure all lab work came in on time and funds were correctly sent out. I took X Rays and processed the film in the X-ray processors.

My tasks as a sales associate were; getting to know each customer and finding the perfect fit for them based on their personality, want and style. Fixing each item and showing all the features of the merchandise, replenishing any items we may have sold throughout the day. Cash wrap tasks included; ringing customers up while getting the personal information to make a profile for the customer, handling payments, wrapping each item, and writing thank you cards to insure they had an enjoyable experience.
