Joined an interdisciplinary team of researchers focused on developing science communication training via a learning management system (LMS) in a variety of areas, including addressing misinformation. Audiences for this training include interdisciplinary students and faculty, as well as community members. I am responsible for the development of online-based education and training for scientists and community members including but not limited to: -Development of written and visual materials that communicate theoretical foundations and practical strategies for science communication, including addressing misinformation.-Development of the virtual learning environment (LVE).-Placement of developed materials in the learning management system (LMS).

Instructor for Strategic Writing and Communication & Media in Society courses with over 75 undergraduate students, where I:-Offered detailed feedback to enhance students' writing skills and foster critical thinking about course material, including comprehensive written comments, constructive criticism, analytical guidance, annotated examples, individual conferences, revision opportunities, and supplementary resources. -Assessed student assignments and presentations promptly and thoroughly, including timely feedback, detailed evaluation, rubric-based grading, oral presentation critiques, individualized attention, and follow-up discussions providing additional support and clarification as needed.-Held weekly office hours to foster an environment of open communication and trust, encouraging students to voice their concerns and seek help without hesitation. This included providing personalized support, academic advising, barrier mitigation, assignment guidance, feedback follow-Up, and skill development advice. -Developed visually appealing and interactive classroom activities, such as multimedia presentations, group projects, and hands-on exercises, to facilitate better comprehension of complex course concepts and keep students actively engaged.-Collaborated with fellow graduate teaching assistants and primary instructors to maintain consistency across classes which included regular meetings, shared resources, standardized assessments, problem-solving sessions, feedback integration, and professional development workshops.

Facilitated conversations and reflections for over 60 first-time graduate teaching assistants in an online course. Invited by the CSU TILT office, I taught three sections of this 7-day course (Fall 2023 x1, Spring 2023 x2). My role was to assist participants with:-Understanding the significance of their role as graduate teaching assistants, including their responsibilities and expectations.-Discussing current best practices in learning and teaching.-Encouraging the application of strategies to enhance teaching, learning, academic integrity, and assessment of student performance in their classes.-Introducing methods to create an inclusive classroom experience.-Providing techniques to confidently respond to various classroom situations.-Highlighting institutional resources available to both teaching assistants and their students.

The Irrigation Innovation Consortium (IIC) works to accelerate the development and adoption of irrigation technologies and practices, increasing water and energy efficiency through public-private collaborative partnerships. My responsibilities as the as the communications specialist included yet were not limited to:-Writing summary articles targeted for general audiences of past and ongoing research funded by the IIC. This involved translating complex research findings and distilling technical information into clear, plan language summaries that highlighted the significance of the research and its potential impact. The articles were distributed via their newsletter, website, and social media.-Developed and delivered Science Communication training at the 2023 Universities Council on Water Resources (UCOWR) conference which played a pivotal role in enhancing the communication skills of scientists and researchers. The training focused on strategies for effectively sharing complex technical research with non-expert audiences. The materials and interactive sessions taught participants how to simplify their language and leverage various communication channels to make scientific information accessible and engaging. -Maintained internal and external communication for a newly launched research program which was a multi-state farming contest with a research framework design that allowed participants to learn from producer management decisions. My tasks included creating and disseminating content that communicated the program’s objectives, updates, and outcomes to stakeholders such as participants, sponsors, and the general public. -Managed the end-to-end process of a regular newsletter. This involved planning content, designing the layout to ensure it was visually appealing and easy to navigate. I used the content management system MailChimp to schedule the distribution of the newsletter and track its performance through analytics.

Instructor for a Inclusive Pedagogy course offered through The Institute for Learning and Teaching (TILT) office. The course encourages participants to engage in self-reflection to consider their own lived experiences and how they use those as a lens to make decisions regarding all aspects of teaching.As an instructor for this course, I would facilitate interactions among students to encourage class discussions and self-reflection on topics such as identifying and addressing microaggressions in the classroom, creating an inclusive and student-centered environment, and implementing inclusive teaching and learning practices.

Served as a trained facilitator and project coordinator for this prestigious University Department program, where I:-Assisted in coordinating 20+ small group forums of 6 to 12 participants on polarizing topics relevant to the Northern Colorado community.-Utilized effective communication skills to facilitate discussions, mitigate poor communication, and manage heightened emotions as a skilled mediator.-Facilitated group discussions for 6-10 people to help guide participants through tough issues containing strong tensions. -Applied deliberative communication techniques to facilitate discussions making it possible to reach a better understanding of the issue at hand as well as the viewpoints involved.

As the Adult Learner & Veteran Services (ALVS) Outreach and Public Relations Manager I was responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with a variety of Colorado State University, ALVS, and Fort Collins community partners. In addition to creating new marketing and advertising opportunities for the ALVS office, I ensured the cultivation and distribution of resources/information for the entirety of the ALVS student population via the ALVS newsletter through a content management system. I worked closely with the Social Media specialist to determine graphic design and creation needs as well as seeking out opportunities which created a strong presence of the ALVS office throughout the university and within the Fort Collins community.

Research in Interpersonal Communication Collaborative (RICC) was a unique opportunity for me to gain hands-on experience completing research under the mentorship of faculty and graduate students. I was directly involved in a variety of aspects of research in the Department of Communication Studies under the leadership of Dr. Meara Faw and Dr. Elizbeth Parks. Tasks completed included but were not limited to: -Certification for Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) program certification for humanistic and behavioral research-Formatting digital surveys through Qualtrics software -Organized and recorded survey data for over 100 participants-Designed and disseminated survey recruitment materials -Familiarized with listening styles and various listening assessments such as Listening Concepts Inventory (LCI-R) and Listening Styles Profile (LSP & LSP-R8) -Application preparation for approval of research via Institutional Review Board (IRB)-Pulling, cleaning, and organizing survey data results to ensure quality responses-Verified interview transcripts for accuracy

Was one of three student employees to step up and answer a short notice call for help from the CSU Pandemic Preparedness Team. In preparation for Fall 2020 I helped distribute approximately 510 personal protective equipment (PPE) stands, 320 hand sanitizer bottles, and 750 containers of disinfectant wipes across campus. These efforts assisted in allowing the university to return and maintain in-person classes throughout Fall semester 2020.

In the new canvas division I helped maintain relationships with customers by ensuring questions and concerns were addressed promptly and properly. I was the primary adviser/instructor for all customer service representatives. My goal was to teach each representative the skills needed to succeed by giving them hands on training. These skills resulted in an outstanding Customer Service Team who produced results time and again.

Circle Graphics launched a new Consumer Printing Division that focused on delivering affordable high quality printed photo products. Their products are sold by many popular photo retailers and directly to professional photographers. I helped maintain relationships with these customers via written and oral communications.

As Order Entry Supervisor I completed training for all new personnel in customer service roles on company specific computer programs. I maintained relationships with internal employees by providing quick and accurate order processing for their customers. Simultaneously I performed the duties of the Art Match Specialist/Coordinator. In this position I was responsible for thousands of unique art flies which were submitted via the company's website. Using an internal computer program, I ensured the art files were accurately matched to their order(s). Attention to detail and a timely response were key to ensure the continued flow of production.

Circle Graphics is a large format ink-jet printing company. They have established themselves as the leader in delivering outdoor advertising print production and print more billboards than any other company in the world. As the Order Entry Supervisor I completed training for all new personnel in customer service roles on company specific computer programs. I helped maintain internal relationships by providing account managers with quick and accurate order processing for their customers. I created and managed reports for the Vice President of Customer Service which included the number of orders received within a certain time frame and processed by the Order Entry Department, as well as a report which helped the Vice President ensure Account Managers were maintaining their relationships with existing customers.

As a Sergeant, my responsibilities included:-Providing reactive and proactive law enforcement on multiple military bases. -Being lead personnel of a transport team responsible for moving persons in custody from one facility to another.-Monthly one-on-one coaching of direct reports where we discussed unit and individual goals, while also looking at previous meetings to ensure continued growth. -Training and leading direct reports through new and essential skill-sets to assist with their understanding and development of concepts. -Ensuring the health and welfare of direct reports to guarantee mission safety and success. 04/2004 - 04/2005: During a twelve-month deployment to Afghanistan my unit was responsible for U.S. Customs Enforcement for all military units that were re-deploying to the United States. his included yet was not limited to informing those units of the expectations, procedures, and policies for customs in addition to performing the required actions, such as searching and securing equipment. Additionally, I was selected to participate in confidential multi-unit missions in and around Kandahar as the lead female Military Police Officer where I assisted in ensuring the safety of all mission personnel and provided cultural respect to native individuals. 07/2006 - 04/2007: During a ten-month deployment to Iraq my unit was responsible for training local law enforcement officers in and around Baghdad. This included yet was not limited to mission planning and route determination based on analysis of gathered intelligence. Additionally, as a team leader throughout the entirety of the deployment I was personally responsible for the welfare and safety of four (4) Soldiers and over a million dollars in equipment. While out of country for two weeks, my supervisor selected me over my peers to take on the additional responsibilities of mission planning and patrol placement for three (3), four (4) person teams, a total of 12 Soldiers.
