As Communications Specialist for the Center for States, my role was to create and maintain a marketing and outreach plan to present the Children’s Bureau’s vision, introduce the Center for States to communicate clearly, and build relationships with target audiences and partner organizations. I also developed and implemented dissemination plans to market Center for States products and services and write content for and disseminate monthly and bi-monthly e-newsletters to target audiences and manage both the Facebook and Twitter pages for the project. The Capacity Building Center for States (the Center) partners with State and territorial public child welfare agencies to achieve better outcomes for children, youth, and families. The Center offers an array of services to meet this goal, including products and tools, web-based training, peer networking, group coaching, and individualized expert consultation.

My role at Tayloe Gray Kristof as project manager required that I remain attentive and active during all stages of the client-agency relationship. The accounts I managed are both local and national clients, and covered a variety of fields and businesses. As the point of contact for each part of the process, I coordinated and organized the workflow between our clients and design/development team, and ensured that the team remained on budget.

As Marketing Outreach Coordinator for the Child Welfare Information Gateway project at ICF International, I assisted in developing an annual plan and budget for strategic outreach activities, developed dissemination plans for various outreach initiatives, and identified content and media activity for a newsletter. I also drafted, coordinated, and posted messages to the Information Gateway and Children's Bureau Facebook pages, while monitoring incoming content daily. I also served as the liaision between the client and our team's Communications Deputy Director and pitched article submissions to editors of child welfare-related publications.

While employed at the Country Club of Fairfax, I designed and coordinated The Breeze, a monthly magazine exclusive to members. I also posted and updated all news and events to the Club’s website and attended all major events as a liaison between the members and banquet staff. While at the Club, I served on the advertising and marketing committees and was responsible for all direct advertising to the members.
