For the last twenty-four years, I have been employed by Long Beach Unified School District in a range of leadership positions including special education teacher, a New Teacher Induction Coach, an Inclusion and Special Education Curriculum Coach, and now as a Transformative Social Emotional-Learning Facilitator. Working in the 4th largest district in CA conducting teacher PD, coaching and leadership to expand these classrooms to a culture and belief systems has given me a variety of experiences that have helped shape the educator that I am, and the leader within special education that I want to continue to be. My core beliefs around are around inclusion, Social-Emotional Learning, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), leading with equity and inclusion at the forefront.
