I am the Founder of Ontoly Carbon, a carbon registry and marketplace software for the buildings sector. Our platform empowers financial institutions and corporations to finance building decarbonization projects in exchange for certified carbon credits. Recently, Ontoly was a finalist in the Climate Safe Lending Network’s Climate Finance Catalyst Contest.I founded Ontoly Carbon with the vision of mobilizing finance to decarbonize buildings at scale. Given that 26% of energy-related emissions originate from buildings, I believe the buildings sector represents the most overlooked opportunity for substantial global emissions reductions.*With 10 years of experience in climate change policy and standards setting, I have drafted climate change legislation for two provincial governments in Canada and led the development of high-integrity voluntary carbon market program updates for Verra. My extensive technical experience in carbon markets includes leading Verra's successful application to the Integrity Council for Voluntary Carbon Markets.I hold an M.Sc. in Environmental Economics from the University of Alberta, specializing in climate change econometrics. I am passionate about advancing climate action and thrive in diverse, collaborative teams that share this vision.

FounderOntoly Carbon Apr 2024 - PresentSquamish, British Columbia, CanadaOntoly Carbon is a carbon registry and marketplace software for the buildings sector. We offer a solution to high capital costs associated with building decarbonization, particularly fuel-switching and electrification projects. While these measures provide significant emissions reductions, they are often expensive to implement. Ontoly’s standards-based certification process introduces a new asset class—carbon credits—allowing building owners to monetize emissions reductions and generate additional funds to support more extensive decarbonization efforts. -
Senior Program Officer (Verified Carbon Standard)Verra Feb 2023 - Apr 2024As a Senior Program Officer, I drafted program updates for the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), the world's most widely used voluntary greenhouse gas program.I worked with project developers, verifiers, technical experts, and other partners to ensure the quality, credibility, and impact of VCS projects and methodologies. I drafted significant portions of Verra’s successful application to the Integrity Council for Voluntary Carbon Markets. I lead the development of Verra’s Article 6 and CORSIA label process and strategy for ensuring corresponding adjustment compliance. I contributed to Verra's strategic vision and goals, and supported the integration of VCS with other standards and initiatives. -
