In my current role as the Director of Health Professional Outreach at the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence I educate health professionals across the state on the health consequences of intimate partner violence. I oversee several projects including oversight of the health professional outreach advocacy team for CCADV’s 18 member organizations, the “Preventing Maternal Mortality due to IPV” OWH grant project, and the National Healthy Start Association AIM CCI IPV Bundle project. I directly oversee the Health Professional Outreach Project Manager at CCADV, the Purple Ribbon Project advocates (OBGYN based), and the Member HPO Advocates across the state. I work closely with health professionals across the state to increase collaborations. At Yale New Haven Hospital I co-chair the Community Advisory Board on Family Violence, serve on ethnocoding projects to increase IPV resources within hospitals, and have helped implement the nationally recognized CUES model in the adult and pediatric emergency departments. At CT Children’s Medical Center I facilitate the CT Children and Family Violence committee, a collaboration of CCADV, CCMC and the CT Injury Prevention Center. Our work with CUES implementation in pediatric settings has been recognized by Futures Without Violence and utilized nationally.I serve on the CT Maternal Mortality Review Committee as the state’s IPV resource, on CCADV’s Fatality Review Committee, the Governors Committee on Women and Girls, & MAPOC.I am also a certified CHOICES counselor and an active supporter and advocate for Wake Up Narcolepsy.
