- Manage 150+ active claim files, pending in multiple states, for a Fortune 500 Company- Directly responsible for oversight of complex claims, approximately 60% in litigation, involving all aspects of real estate and insurance law, including challenges to title, transactional disputes, foreclosure matters, and contract actions- Direct supervision and management of litigation to establish title to the insured property, recover losses to the company, and defend the company from third-party lawsuits, including initial case strategy, recommendations for retention of local counsel, billing review, budget analysis, and reviewing, editing, and analyzing pleadings, discovery requests and responses, dispositive motions, and settlement agreements- Draft and review various documents, including affidavits, indemnity/contribution/settlement agreements, promissory notes, mortgage modifications, and releases- Prepare legal memoranda on a wide spectrum of legal issues involving commercial and residential real property, with an emphasis on title insurance and contract- Responsible for issuing comprehensive coverage opinions for claims by real property owners and lenders under various title insurance policies, escrow agreements, and closing protection letters- Minimize financial exposure and cost through aggressive strategic litigation, negotiation, and alternative dispute resolution, simultaneously protecting the company's interest while honoring obligations under the insurance contract- Responsible for drafting various shareholder reports presenting high-exposure claim liability and strategy issues to FNTG's Executive Vice President/Chief Legal Officer and Senior Vice President/Chief Claims Counsel- Maintain regulatory, legal, ethical, and corporate compliance across multiple states, and through various governmental bodies
