My time at Symm, I was fortunate enough to work with a variety of highly experienced professionals with a wealth of knowledge all varying in areas of expertise. This allowed me to broaden my knowledges in cost control and production managment, along with developing detailed techincal knowledge. Other areas of development were focused around non-techincal understanding such as commerical awareness,problem solving and working with client representatives such as Architect, Contract Adminstrators, M&E consultants and such like. I spent a significant amount of time working alongside a Senior Quantity Surveyor, measuring and detailing variations and specification changes to the design, qualifying cost implications and obtaining costs from specalists subcontractor for client review. I was also tasked with reviewing existing subcontractors bill of quantities to ensure changes to the designs where reflected in interim payments and final bills. I also provided supporting evidence and caculations for interim payment submisions of which was reviewed by QS before submisson to PQS and client.

As a result of my high standard of training, the store received a 98% mystery shop rating, I co-led a team of employees on a season changeover organising new stock, merchandising window displays and ensuring we met hourly targets before launching the new collection the morning after.

Ltd Oxford.8 week duration -Voulntery work experience.Projects Typically £500k+ Experience and Accountability:− I was actively involved in daily procedures and site activities that are linked with a high-risk and restricted site at Osney Mead, Botley.− I worked with and interpreted architect drawings so that I could determine concrete volumes for various sections of complex projects.− I used my organisational skills to schedule numerous concrete deliveries to site and ensured that pours were completed with minimal disruption to local traffic, whilst not hindering project deadlines. − I put together a schedule of work after determining the current progress of the project, which was later handed to the client. This shows my ability to work to industry standards.− I developed a comprehensive understanding of diary and time management in order to maximise efficiency and progress of a project.
