Shadowed in Dr. Yann Gibert at UMMC Medical Center under the Molecular Cell and Biology department. We developed a zebrafish model of fetal hyperglycemia (FH) in which direct glucose exposure to the developing embryos results in hyperinsulinemia and increased free glucose concentrations. This model allows for pharmacological interventions to investigate therapeutic avenues for Gestational Diabetes and FH.
