Appointed by the University President to provide engaging learning experiences, expanding partnerships, promoting, creating and developing internships with industry, the region, the state and the nation in response to industry’s future educational employment needs to drive the economic vitality of FSU and WV. Collaborate with university and outside constituents to develop relevant career and college pathways that support workforce and economic development and inspire a culture of lifelong learning. Responsible for program development and managing budgets associated with the center and assisting with fundraising efforts. Also accountable for the development of employees emphasizing quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance.

Responsible for teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Business. Taught courses in Business Communications, Healthcare Management, Personal Development, Computing and Organizational Behavior. Design and redesign courses to implement active learning strategies and experiential learning. Served on several university committees. Directed and implemented faculty development opportunities for School of Business faculty. Co-created, delivered and designed campus-wide training for new faculty. Coordinated and managed the School of Business Learn Lab and peer mentoring program, and hired, trained, supervised and evaluated peer mentors. Organized and led a study abroad program in New Zealand. The program was offered during Winter Break, and provided students a deeper understanding of the current business environment in New Zealand by examining the political, economic, social, cultural, and legal factors through faculty-led lectures and business executive meetings. Students had the opportunity to meet and engage with Sony Music Manager, GE Country Leader, Johnson and Johnson General Manager, DHL Country Manager, Air New Zealand Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs, Uber Senior Operations Manager, and several other companies.

Coordinated and assisted in the redesign of high-risk business curriculum as collaborative, experiential and technology-rich to promote student learning and retention. DFW percentages significantly decreased (i.e. Business Programming- baseline was 34.8% of students received a D, F, or withdrew. After course redesign, dropped 32.6% to only 2.2% of students receiving a D, F, or withdrew. Principles of Accounting I- baseline was 46.7% of students received a D, F, or withdrew. After course redesign, dropped 15.8% to 30.9%; Macroeconomics- baseline was 49.8% of students received a D, F, or withdrew. After course redesign, dropped 18.2% to 31.6%).Also, provided business faculty with professional development training related to course redesign, assisted with institutional assessment, data collection and reporting associated with student learning, coordinated and managed the School of Business Learn Lab, and hired, trained, supervised and evaluated peer mentors. In addition to Learning Coordinator duties, I taught a variety of courses in the School of Business.

Met with students to identify and determine functional limitations caused by a disability, planning/coordinating for the provision of reasonable accommodations, responsible for reviewing documentation and psychoeducational testing to determine eligibility for services. Assisted and provided training to faculty on best practices of universal design. Collaborated with community and university officials to initiate and foster collaborative retention efforts. Served on the Workforce Task Committee and DiversiTea Committee.Supervised the Mountaineer Academic Program (MAP), a supplemental program which provided services to promote the retention of undergraduate students with disabilities. Hired, trained, supervised and evaluated program graduate assistants (3), student tutors (40-45), student workers, and work-study students working in the Mountaineer Academic Program. Conducted monthly training sessions and professional development for students and employees. Provided academic coaching to students enrolled in the MAP. Responsible for program development, including tutor training programs and assessment, and implementing programs to contribute to the educational and personal growth of the students.
