I help owners who are interested in selling: prepare to go to market, establish valuations, assimilate and present due diligence, negotiate the sales documents and then close the deal. I also perform third-party business purchases, where I serve as a mediator between the buyer and the seller, drafting middle of the road transaction documents, explaining the process to both parties in detail, answering both parties questions and facilitating the successful closing of the transaction. As an avid hunter and shooter, I also handle all types of firearms related law, from drafting gun trusts for NFA items to assisting clients with ITAR related issues.

David Redding and Ashley Tison have practiced law in Charlotte in good times and bad. Mr. Tison’s real estate practice includes all aspects of commercial and residential real estate development, management, financing and workout. While outside general counsel for a developer, he managed all re-development activities of a 780 acre mountain golf course. While in-house counsel for Gemini, Mr. Tison conducted lease negotiation and property management activities for 1.6 million square feet of retail space. He also coordinated acquisition of retail and hospitality assets and oversaw the development of numerous retail shopping centers across the Southeast. Mr. Tison currently represents developers, tenants and landlords in devising creative solutions for work-out and re-tooling scenarios.Mr. Tison’s corporate practice includes private equity, venture and mezzanine capital access and deployment. Mr. Tison regularly practices in the field of sports law, representing athletes/entertainers/sponsors, including corporate transactions for entertainers, licensing, IP protection, contract negotiation and sponsorship structuring. Mr. Tison’s commercial litigation practice focuses on complex breach of contract and business tort cases including claims against former employees, lender liability claims and other finance related lawsuits.Mr. Tison’s international practice focuses on foreign trade and export compliance. Mr. Tison has assisted clients in obtaining licenses from the Office of Foreign Assets Control to export products to the Sudan, and has advised clients relating to OFAC regulations, product classifications and overall export compliance. Mr. Tison has also negotiated and drafted export control terms into international distribution, supply and sale agreements. Mr. Tison also advises clients relating to compliance with the foreign corrupt practices act and steps that exporters and academic institutions can implement as part of a comprehensive compliance program.
