In this role I am often left duty manager of the store and I am one of 4 key holders. My day to day duties in this role are accountability for sales, waste, que management, stock accuracy and a high level of customer service. I am also responsible for ensuring that all deliveries are worked to a tight time scale, and colleagues are briefed on expectations for the shift ahead also making sure the shop is fit for opening at close of business. Being one of 4 key holders also brings additional responsibilities including making sure alarms are set at the end of the shift, making sure the shop is locked and secure. Also making sure I am knowledged in how to deal with a variety of situations that could occur even if rare. My key attributes for this role are Leadership, communication, time management, tenacity and engagement.

I have had various roles in my time at Asda including being the section leader of the 2 biggest trading departments within the store. As section leader my responsibilities are, ensuring rotas are in place with the right people at the right time ensuring the department is sufficiently covered every minute of a trading day and all holidays and absences are covered. I am also responsible for all aspects of compliance and health and safety for the department is correct and up to date. I am accountable for delivering the departments KRA's such as sales, waste, wages, availability and shrink. Being in charge of a department also requires me to be accountable for the departments recruitment and training of any new colleagues that come into the business, customer service is also a key aspect of the role from helping customers with general enquires to handling customer complaints. I am also left as duty cover on several of my shifts leaving me responsible for the entire store.
