Serve as co-chair of the Firm’s DiverseAbility Affinity Group supporting and promoting those who have visible and invisible disabilities and those who are caregivers for those with disabilities.

•Collaborate with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) to manage and supervise cases.•Supervise visitations between children and their parents, ensuring they are safe and productive.•Transport children to supervised visitation.•Provide thorough written reports to DCF documenting interactions and events during supervised visits as well as the progress of parental education. •Supervise children with traumatic pasts and special needs, understanding the unique sensitivity of each case and child.

•Responsible for investigating State Special Public Defender Cases as well as other criminal and civil cases. •Dissect police reports and discovery materials, discover discrepancies, and determine appropriate course of action.•Locate witnesses and obtain statements when needed.•Conduct client interviews, both in prison and outside.•Investigate crime scenes (photograph, observe surroundings, create diagrams:) compare findings to police reports, unearth inconsistencies.•Complete investigative reports on findings in the case.•Conduct presentence investigations.•Presence in court for jury selection, litigation assistance and proceedings. •Research state statutes and case law, determining accuracy of charges filed.

I have gained invaluable experience in the criminal legal field during my time as an intern. Responsibilities include:*Investigate crime scenes (photograph, observe surroundings): compare findings to police reports, unearthing inconsistencies.*Serve subpoenas. *Train interns on proper collection of inmate interviews. *Conduct inmate interviews for arraignment purposes and to determine financial eligibility for public defender services.*Dissect police reports, discover immediate discrepancies, and distribute prior to court hearings, resulting in lowered bonds for clients. *Entrusted to consult with clients to explain court proceedings, potential offers; relaying any concerns to the attorneys. *Research state statutes and case law, determining accuracy of charges filed.
