I filled in for a maternity leave for the remainder of the school year. Responsible for carrying out the daily duties of a classroom teacher including creating and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, aligning with the Common Core State Standards, assessing students and using that data to inform instruction, completing progress reports and report cards, creating a safe and tolerant learning environment, implementing IEP and 504 accommodations, corresponding with family members, participating in team and PLC meetings, and held a workshop on 21st century learning for colleagues.

Worked one-on-one with a first grade child with special needs, provided academic and behavioral support, remained with the child through classroom work times, lunch, recess, specials, and the bus, was responsible for collecting documentation for the child daily, worked and met with the child’s support team, as well as implemented accommodations from the child’s IEP.

Assumed the daily responsibilities of the permanent teacher such as creating a safe learning environment, implemented daily lessons/activities, guided the students through their daily transitions, corrected papers, administered assessments, left a detailed account of the day for the permanent teacher, familiarized myself with the district's policies and emergency procedures, and fulfilled the permanent teacher's daily duties such as carpool, bus, recess, and lunch duties.

Created and implemented lessons/activities for one- to two-year-olds, created a safe and healthy learning environment, helped the children with their various transitions throughout the day, facilitated snack and meal times as well as nap time, created an account of their day for each child each day, interacted with family members during pick-up and drop-off times as well as during meetings and conferences, completed a quarterly ASQ assessment for each child, and participated in various professional development opportunities including staff meetings, conferences, and workshops.

Responsible for the safety and care of children from birth to elementary school, created and implemented activities, participated in meal and snack times, facilitated both indoor and outdoor play, participated in workshops, communicated with parents and families, created bulletin boards and other methods of family communication and gained experience with NAEYC.
