-Perform a wide array of duties, including scheduling patients and checking patients in and out; coordination of patients’ care, and collecting patient payments. data entry of CPT, ICD-9, and transactions codes; as well as batching and balancing at end-of-day-Check patients’ insurance eligibility, coverage of benefits, and effectively explain financial responsibility to patients-Successfully obtain insurance required referrals, pre-certifications, and prior authorizations-Quickly respond to patient’s questions about insurance, billing and account issues-Able to expedite patient referrals for specialist, diagnostic testing, therapeutic procedures, and durable medical equipment by maintain working relationship with other area healthcare providers-Retrieve laboratory reports, radiology reports, films, and doctors’ treatment notes -Gather insurance payments and remittance, correctly perform line-by-line posting, as well as follow-ups with insurance companies to obtain claim denial information-Notify patients of past due balances, arrange payment plans with patients, collect information on past-due accounts, turn them over to collections, as well as attend and testify in collection trials -Maintain constant contact with attorneys and auto insurance companies regarding payment of treatment for patients’ involved in personal injury cases-Copy patient treatment notes in compliance with Alabama State laws and HIPAA regulations-Manage physician’s desk by organize workflow and task requiring precedence-Perform inventory and ordering of all office products and products-Process payroll and 401K-Manage employee schedules to coordinate with the office’s patient schedule-Participate in insurance and billing seminars to acquire the most up-to-date information in the industry-Maintain regular maintenance of server, computers, and software -Design office marketing tools, business cards, brochures, fliers, etc.
