https://www.cripriot.comIn 2018, Lindsey Muszkiewicz and Ashley Cowan D’Ambrosio, disabled students from the University of Washington, created the first-ever F*** Stairs campaign. The campaign ranged from a few weeks, to a full month, where able-bodied people and disabled allies would pledge to use only accessible pathways in solidarity with wheelchair users and other people with mobility impairments. This challenge was meant to demonstrate just how inaccessible and unwelcoming physical spaces continue to be, even 30 years after the signing of the ADA.Now, the students that built the F*** Stairs campaign have founded Crip Riot, a disabled-owned and led company committed to bringing expressions of disability pride to the world, through unapologetic clothing, media, education and activism. Crip Riot exists to honor the rich political history of riots and the punk movement which transcends the disability pride movement and incorporates the social rights of people of color, queer and trans people, women, and other communities impacted by systemic violence and oppression. Crip Riot envisions an intersectional, interconnected space to explore how our identities strengthen each other when embraced in full.The F*** Stairs campaign is a vital part of our Crip Riot vision – creating a space for Disability Pride and Crip Pride to thrive, while bringing broader awareness to the world, so that our dream of accessible and inclusive futures can be realized.ashley@cripriot.com

Program Manager building out AAPD’s advocacy program to ensure access to education for people with disabilities across the nation.The AAPD COVID-19 & Higher Education Advocacy program will bring together disabled students, staff, and faculty together to support disabled members of campus communities who are already organizing for access, and to those who want to join in doing so.As we build our program we will center our work on students and staff of color with disabilities, low-income students with disabilities, those in youth reengagement programs, and those students with disabilities caught in the school-to-prison nexus. This program is a continuation of the grassroots organizing that transformed the nation, with disabled students at the forefront. While the COVID pandemic may have brought about new challenges, the legacy we hope to honor through our organizing is decades old; an example of what is possible when the Disabled community comes together to fight for change.

Disability consulting for children's book: Many Ways to Be (Sesame Street ® Celebrating You and Me)

- Defined the strategy to ensure our nursing staff feel comfortable when using our operational software.- Translated user requirements to our engineering leader to create the user interface.

- Met with various stakeholders to define Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and worked with leadership to define measurements to support the growth of Nursing Evolutions. - Achieved talent acquisition OKR by reducing the time job positions were open, from 2-3 months to 2-3 weeks.- Led the review and update of 20+ employment policies and procedures, aligning with Department of Child, Youth and Families (DCYF) requirements, to reflect changing operations including those related to employment practices, benefits, and disability accommodations.- Leveraged Adobe Illustrator skills and disability studies expertise to design and contribute to an ASL & Deaf Culture Resource Guide; improving communication capability between patients, and their nursing care providers,

- Led a review of state law to migrate out of home health care business into a startup to expand access to healthcare for medically fragile children; resulting in the creation of a pediatric critical care group home.- Fostered relationships with key stakeholders in healthcare, education, nursing, and disability studies communities to support and grow talent acquisition capabilities.

- Managed $18,000 annual budget and grew it to $24,000.- The new Assistant Director role, funded by the growth of the budget, allowed the Director (me) to focus on the “Distance Learning Now” campaign; ensuring that equitable automated lecture capture access has the precedent within ASUW to meet the needs of disabled and non-traditional students in subsequent years.- Gained student senate approval to review the impact of creating a new entity: the ASUW Office of Inclusive Design (OID). The OID would improve access to ASUW events and workplaces for Disabled, Deaf and non-traditional students.- Improved access to our office by introducing a hybrid, asynchronous work environment.

- Elected as Associated Student Government President (ASG) to interface with the leadership of the college, student leaders at other colleges/universities (ex. UW) and the general public; engaged in public speaking events, and participated in interviews with campus media sources.- Served as Chair of the College Council (2015-16); facilitated review and edits of college policies for accreditation purposes.- Served on the Board of Directors of the Washington Community and Technical College Student Association (WACTCSA) representing the interests of four community colleges to inform state lobbying priorities.
