Oversaw brand management, including defining and implementing design standards, for Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University. Served as lead designer to create an array of marketing materials, including digital advertising, presentations, web pages and more, to highlight our programs, elevate faculty and staff projects, and build trust in our brand. Also mentored and guided our marketing team in the implementation of our brand across all channels. Was invited to join the team and continue as a graduate assistant following my summer internship (Jun 2018 – Aug 2018) with CAS-IT.

Built department websites for the College of Arts and Sciences Information Technology department (CAS-IT) using Markdown, HTML, and CSS. Software used included: Atom and Sublime Text for writing and editing code, and InDesign and Photoshop for creating mock-ups.

Designed a way-finding app for traveling Route 66 as part of a joint initiative between The Road Ahead Partnership and State Farm Insurance:• Conducted research to identify user needs and app features.• Created assets in Adobe Illustrator and designed app prototype in Adobe XD.• Tested and refined designs based on user feedback.• Prepared assets for hand-off to developers. • Helped developers implement design choices using SCSS in the Ionic app development platform.• Presented early app concept to stakeholders at annual Road Ahead Partnership meeting, held in Tulsa, Okla., in February 2018. Began as part of my graduate degree work and continued as a volunteer consultant until project closed.

Conducted a user observation study seeking to optimize and improve the assembly process for building earth-mover machines. Timed and observed workers performing each step of the build process, created spaghetti charts cataloging worker movement, and provided a findings report. Also designed and delivered a presentation outlining the process and findings of the observation study.
