•Beginning as a Public Policy Coordinator for the SC Coalition for Healthy Families under the New Morning Foundation, I served on a team that grew to form its own entity, WREN – the Women’s Rights and Empowerment Network; a South Carolina-based network created to build a movement to advance the health, economic well-being, and rights of South Carolina’s women, girls, and their families.•Primarily responsible for leading research efforts that foster strong efficacy, reliability, and useful application of policies and programs as they relate to our mission. •Support positive results and the effectiveness of the South Carolina Coalition for Healthy Families via coordination and oversight of their calendar/events, timely communication, diligent reporting, and management of the overall cohesiveness and functionality of the 15 primary organizations and thousands of local advocates focused on a common agenda.•Improve economic and public health outcomes for SC citizens as a result of strategic collaboration, coordination, and communication with the 140 members of the SC State Legislature (36 Senators & 124 Representatives) Committee Legal Counsel, and their respective staff members. •Successfully advanced legislation, including full passage of bills by proactively lobbying for up to 7 primary bills, directly organizing defense efforts for at least 4 bills, and tracking over 100 individual pieces of legislation in one annual SC State Legislative Session. •Strengthen regional relationships and outcomes by partnering with neighboring states; recruited to serve as an SME and advise on strategic plans with organizations such as the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, IVF advocacy groups, and the Center for Reproductive Rights.
