Originally from Cheraw, South Carolina, Ashley Cole Story graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2012. She began working with J. Lewis Cromer & Associates as a clerk and continued her work as an associate attorney handling various employment law matters for the plaintiffs' bar including wrongful termination, violations of federal discrimination law, and various SC torts. She then transitioned to the defense bar, working with Duff, White & Turner, LLC before forming White & Story, LLC in April of 2017.Ashley practices law in South Carolina and is admitted in the Fourth Circuit United States Court of Appeals as well as Federal Court for the District of South Carolina. In addition to practicing law, she is active with the Richland County Bar Association as the a member of the Executive Committee and former Chair for the Public Service Committee, an Ambassador for the SC Bar Foundation, and a member of the American Bar Association. Ashley also serves with the Junior League of Columbia and serves as a Board Member for the South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.As a law student, Ashley was a competing member on the USC School of Law Mock Trial Bar and also served as the Vice President of the USC School of Law Pro Bono Program. She co-chaired the Law School Ambassadors Program and was an active member of the Black Law Students Association.As a Public Interest Fellow, Ashley clerked for Richland County Court Appointed Special Advocates and S.C. Legal Services. Richland County CASA is a volunteer guardian ad litem program, and S.C. Legal Services provides free legal assistance to low-income residents of the state.Ashley graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina, where she earned a B.S.in International Business and Marketing in 2009.
