Graduate of UC Davis with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and minors in Communication and Art History.During my time at UC Davis, I gained experience working with a diverse group of people in many roles, including as a peer mentor, orientation leader, and intern for a student organization promoting a sustainable planet. My most recent accomplishment is the co-authorship of a publication of a scientific research article in the Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution journal that studied the behavioral responses of nonhuman primates to varying social stimuli. My work as a research assistant in the Bales Lab at UC Davis, and the encouragement of my wonderful mentor there, led me to the opportunity for this achievement and to the discovery of my passion for research.Before my work at UC Davis, I worked as an administrative assistant at a non-profit animal shelter during my time at community college. I became skilled at interpersonal communication, including in stressful situations, such as in-person, email, and phone conversations with the community, as well as many administrative duties, such as office organization. I frequently engaged with and handled scared, injured, and feral animals in a calm and efficient way that maintained both their safety and the safety of fellow staff members. I also mastered time management working two part time jobs while studying full-time.
