Marines never stop being Marines, never stop serving their country and community. It is an awesome privilege to be a part of the campaign to build a lasting tribute to honor their service. Better still to work alongside distinguished Marines, veterans and civilians to create a truly immersive journey into the ethos, leadership, accomplishments, and innovations that make our Marine Corps the world's trusted First Responders – and first in line to protect our way of life.My role began with building the nonprofit management infrastructure needed to take the organization from a grassroots community effort to a nationwide organization that honors the legacy of Carolina Marines and Sailors, sustains the ideals that are the foundation of our nation and inspires principled, committed citizens. We are excited to be moving now, in the summer of 2022, to the building phase. We welcome our new CEO, BGen Kevin Stewart, USMC (Ret) who will oversee the construction of the 40,000 square foot facility and help us launch the curriculum of Al Gray Civic Institute. In my new role as VP of Development, it will be an honor to match our mission with donors and volunteers who share our mission and commitment:We seek to protect the American way of life and to honor and preserve the memory of those who have risked it all on our behalf.
Senior Administrator, Operations
Oversaw operations department including the establishment of the infrastructure for a systemwide employee giving campaign, transition to integrated accounting software, and internal audit of policies and procedures

Manatee County YMCA is a wonderful organization. I had the privilege of working there for a little more than one year, setting up their annual campaign, Emeritus Board, the beginning of a planned giving program, and a capital campaign. Their branch executives, membership directors, association staff, volunteers, donors, and members are people who either truly know how to balance their spirit, mind and body - or are on the path to balance. It was a privilege to be a part of it.• Brought in as first development director to establish comprehensive fundraising campaign including database management, moves management and prospect assignments• Created infrastructure for system-wide annual campaign• Worked with branch directors to roll out annual campaign collateral materials and processes, exceeding the first-year goal• Primary staff assigned to capital campaigns for construction of a new branch in Parrish, FL as well as an expansion of the Lakewood Ranch branch• Established prospect pipeline protocols for staff and Board members• Created Emeritus Board

What an inspirational place to work! The Salvation Army's mission is to meet human need without discrimination. I admire their enduring history of helping those who are most in need. God bless The Salvation Army.• Inaugural Marketing and Development Director• Increased donor base by 25% and annual giving by 34%, exceeding $1.3M• Represented The Salvation Army on the Board of the Suncoast Partnership to End Homeless, the Sarasota-Manatee Continuum of Care, and the 10-Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness• Led increasingly successful direct mail campaigns which became one of two campaigns in Florida continuing to increase revenue year on year• Served as spokesperson for all public speaking engagements including United Way campaign presentations, civic groups, churches, and businesses• Secured only HUD Emergency Shelter Grant in the region for the prevention of homelessness, with year on year renewals, bringing more than $300,000 new dollars to Sarasota/Manatee for prevention services• Oversaw all marketing and fundraising for Angel Tree, Red Kettle, Disaster Relief, food drives, and media requests• Created an earned income opportunity with first year revenues estimated at $1M: Mixed Use/Mixed Income downtown facility with first floor retail, housing for families transitioning from homelessness, and built-in employment and childcare opportunities; The project gained approval and endorsement by all local, state and national public officials in the area, the Florida Divisional Headquarters of The Salvation Army and the Territorial Headquarters of The Salvation Army
Resource Development Director
How have I been so blessed? United Way not only had an excellent and inspirational team on staff but its Board of Directors was amazing. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to work with them on behalf of more than 40 top quality nonprofit organizations. And what can I say about the hundreds of company employees who support United Way and its agencies? Words cannot describe my appreciation of them. Some, I know without a doubt, give sacrificially to help others. • Led annual fundraising campaign that reached it’s goal of “$2M by 2000” two years ahead of schedule• Became most requested public speaker by area corporations, schools and government offices• Created an all-volunteer Marketing Committee comprised of the area’s leading corporate marketing professionals• Worked with campaign director to design campaign collateral materials designs• Won two United Way National Communications Competitions with campaign materials• Established donor stewardship process• Oversaw all United Way events including golf tournaments, sporting clays, dinners, luncheons, auctions, and other community-wide events• Participated in the formation of United Way Foundation and major donor society, the Alexis de Toqueville Society
Executive Director
Family Violence Treatment, Intervention, PreventionI will always be an advocate for those who are in harm's way...the adults and children whose lives are led in fear and danger. I am thankful for the professionals, donors and volunteers who continue to work in this field, to seek to transform our society's understanding of how and why these things occur - and most importantly, to take action to create a culture in which each member of the family is thriving rather than merely surviving...or not. HOPE is where I learned how to rally a community around a cause. It's where I learned how to integrate marketing and fundraising. It's where I got over my fear of public speaking and began to realize that it's not what the audience thinks of me but what I can say that will inspire them to action. As executive director, I was honored to help put family violence and its intervention and prevention “on the map” in Manatee County as a priority for the entire community.• Responsible for operations, management, supervision, human resources, marketing, program development, strategic and long-range planning, and fundraising• Reported to Board of Directors• Led a team of truly dedicated professionals• Increased annual giving and public support by 150%• Expanded counseling program from one to ten master’s level counselors• Implemented the first children’s program for victims of domestic violence in Florida• First organization in the community to employ program outcome measurements as a predictor of the effectiveness of the shelter and counseling program• Taught 3-hour domestic violence intervention module at Manatee County Police Academy• Catapulted HOPE from a hushed secret to a top of mind organization, appearing in print, local and regional television/radio more than 42 times in one year• United Way’s most requested speaker• AAUW Community Leadership Award• Founding member of the Family Violence Council in Manatee County
Psychological Services Coordinator
This was the beginning of my career, my first job after college. The State of Arizona established a program to provide psychological evaluation and treatment services to victims of child abuse and their families. I was honored to serve as the first coordinator for that program, helping triage and assign cases to 25 psychologists. This was where I learned how truly dedicated social workers are as well. 175 case workers seeking the best possible care for victims of child abuse... 25 psychologists...Not enough hours in the day. Most Exciting Accomplishment: This program started small but within five years was afforded its own line in the legislature's budget. AZ committed to intervening with a "whole family" approach.
