About Ashley (Chachi) Bocanegra
I am a second-year graduate student pursuing a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Indiana University Indianapolis, under the supervision of Dr. Adam Hirsh. My research passion lies in the exploration of chronic gynecological pain, with a specific focus on conditions such as dysmenorrhea and endometriosis, in women facing various physical disabilities. Central to my inquiry is an examination of the multifaceted impact of biopsychosocial factors on the availability of resources and treatment options for these women. It is disconcerting to observe that these issues remain under-researched, dismissed, and stigmatized in our society. My research endeavors are motivated by a commitment to challenging these existing disparities, raising awareness, and advocating for a more inclusive approach to understanding and managing chronic gynecological pain in women with diverse abilities.
