About Ashley Maddison

After spending several years in the social service field, I felt compelled to pursue public interest law. Upon graduating from Rutgers Law School in Camden, I served as the Equal Justice Works Fellow at the Camden Medical-Legal Partnership, a partnership of Rutgers Law School and the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers, tackling complex health and social needs through holistic legal representation, education, collaboration, and policy advocacy. After my fellowship, I transitioned to the role of Housing Justice Attorney at Rutgers, as part of the newly formed statewide New Jersey Housing Justice Program in 2021. I represent South Jersey tenants facing eviction, uninhabitable living conditions, and housing instability. I firmly believe that housing is a human right. In my personal life, I serve as a resource parent for children in foster care. I have been honored to share my home with 8 amazing children over the past 6 years and come alongside their families as an ongoing resource and support.
