For eight years, I was employed as a Probation Officer, specialising in the risk assessment and risk management of high-risk and problematic offenders in the community and in prison. To ensure public protection and achieve reduction in risk of serious harm and risk of re-offending, rigid monitoring and informed sentence planning was undertaken and assessed on a regular basis in line with statutory legislation. Through a strategic inter-agency approach, I contributed to the successful rehabilitation of a 200+ offenders in the community and was instrumental in effecting change in their lives. This was achieved through working collaboratively with a number of government agencies, not-for-profit organisations and education/employment providers. This experience refined my skills in dealing with people and understanding the needs of people. As such, the government, education and not-for-profit space is an area that I resonate with and I am committed to securing strong talent to enable such entities to positively impact people's lives.
