"Developer interested in building backend systems that scale." That's what this bio said over 3 years ago, when I sought out my first opportunity to work full time in golang. Since then, my interest in this type of work has never wavered and I continue to pursue it.In addition to my interests in golang, microservice architecture, and distributed systems, I also know that I possess strong leadership skills at the core of who I am. Recognizing this is largely thanks to 3 years working at Pex, where my radical candor was encouraged.Some of my principles I feel most passionate about include developing and sharing opinions and instincts that help guide my work and strengthen my team. I appreciate diverse perspectives and actively work to challenge my own assumptions. I also feel strongly about learning. Without looking into my curiosities, how can I identify the best opportunities, and discover new and improved ways of doing things? This involves diving deep, which I often do, into conversations, books, and code. This is a major reason why I've always loved the internet and why I find my career as a software engineer highly fulfilling.
