What are some key values and skills I learned by simply growing up in a small town? Well i'm glad you asked.I'll give you FIVE ! 1. Having a LOVE for relationships: Growing up in a small town made me have a deep appreciation for relationships and a passion to invest in them.2. Having pride for my community: Small-town pride is a powerful force that brings locals, businesses and others together! It motivates me to contribute to the improvement of my community, workplace or lifestyle.3. A sense of resourcefulness and self-sufficiency: Ok, Small-town life, it forced me to be resourceful and self-sufficient. Whether it’s fixing a flat tire in the middle of no where, or finding creative solutions to life’s daily challenges, my small town is where I learned a lot of these "working under pressure" skills that I use in my career and daily life.4. A STRONG work ethic: I've learned to take pride in my work and how hard work pays off. Whether it was working at a local business, or engaging in volunteer projects, hard work is a fundamental part of my make-up. My town THRIVED off of strong work ethics, especially with volunteering!5. Being OK with change: I moved out West for college not knowing ANYONE! Yep, I left my small town lifestyle and lived in the BIG city of Tempe, Arizona. It was a culture shock, BUT.... I adapted quickly and enjoyed my time. Now, when a curveball, change or surprise comes my way, I handle it with ease! This taught me how to be more flexible and adaptable.
