Ashley D. Escobar is a writer and filmmaker from San Francisco, residing in New York City. Eileen Myles selected her debut poetry collection GLIB (2025) as the 2024 Changes Book Prize winner. SOMETIMES (Invisible Hand Press) is her debut poetry chapbook. She is a 2024 fiction MFA candidate and recipient of multiple scholarships at Columbia University. She co-founded the art and literary journal Wind-up Mice and recently graduated from Bennington College where she received the 2020 Catherine Morrison Golden '55 P'80 Undergraduate Writing Fellowship in fiction.Her work can be found in The London Magazine, The Brooklyn Rail, The Drift, and Hobart, among others. She is experienced in copyediting, copywriting, proofreading, digital marketing, filmmaking, art directing, art handling, and editorial management. She explores the intersections between storytelling, fashion, and moving and still images.
