I assumed the role of Finance Executive at the University of Cape Town in order to bolster the leadership of the finance team. During my tenure, I focused on gaining a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of the institution, pinpointing inefficiencies, and contributing strategically and operationally to various committees. I also identified and implemented lucrative commercial opportunities, all while cultivating relationships with key stakeholders.

With a decade of corporate experience and a strategic entrepreneurial vision, I established my own consulting firm with a purpose-driven approach. As part of this venture, I was privileged to contribute to the Turnaround Team at Walter Sisulu University (WSU) in Eastern Cape, selected by the Minister of Higher Education, Blade Nsimande. I also collaborated with Advocate Muzi Sikhakhane on an independent assessment of the affairs of Vaal University of Technology.

As a Co-founder, Managing Director, and Public Officer of Biotech Fuels, I oversaw the production of wood pellets made from waste material. These pellets were exported to Europe as an alternative to coal for generating electricity. During my tenure, we successfully raised R200 million.My responsibilities included providing overall leadership, managing finances, ensuring corporate governance, formulating strategies, and overseeing general administration. I also played a key role in securing international financing and raising awareness among governments about renewable energy. As a result, we established a globally recognized and respected brand.I sold Biotech Fuels in 2011.

17 years into my corporate career, I had the privilege of serving as the Chief Financial Executive for the V&A Waterfront Group. As a key member of the portfolio, I reported directly to the Managing Director and worked closely with the Board of Directors. My responsibilities included attending board meetings and participating in all of the Group's corporate governance events.One of my most significant achievements during my time with the Group was leading the transformation of the organization from a parastatal to a fully-fledged commercial entity. This involved implementing a new corporate structure and bringing new Board members on board, which was a great success. I also played a crucial role in finalizing the sale of the Waterfront Group, which eventually sold for R 7.2 billion in 2006.
