About Ashley Geary

Hello, I am a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Kentucky. I previously worked at the John L. Street Library, serving as a public relations help desk for my county. One of my proudest projects was developing a seed library for my county. At the university, I am in Energy Club, UK Solar Car, and Baptist Student Ministries. I have been taking engineering courses since middle school, getting my hands on any engineering project I could. I am a team player, dependable, and an excellent problem solver. I have plentiful experience in CAD, design, and mechanical principles. My goal is to work in renewable energy or defense engineering. My personality and ability to communicate effectively to a broad audience sets me aside as an excellent team player and employee.

I am a Learning Lab Intern doing archival research on Hiram Graham, who was a previous dean of the College of Engineering, a Captain of Engineers in WW1, and a consult engineer on dams, mines, and railroads. Retail Associate
    Bealls, Inc. May 2024 - Aug 2024
    Hopkinsville, Kentucky, United States
I worked as a retail associate during the summer. My main duties were handling truck deliveries, working as a cashier, and cleaning the store. I had to work hand-in-hand with a team of diverse associates and supervisors to keep the store client friendly. I was primarily as a cashier that had to adapt at a customer-to-customer basis to keep their experience upbeat and personalized.
  • John L. Street Library
    County Library Student Worker
    John L. Street Library Aug 2022 - Aug 2023
    Cadiz, Kentucky, United States
I worked multiple roles as a Co-Op student at my county's library. I started by archiving yearbooks and news articles to preserve the history of my county. Then, I set up displays to honor local Veterans; this required appealing design and research. Then, I set up the first annual seed library to support environmental awareness in my town. This required appealing designs, research, and attention to detail. I created this seed library from scratch, including planting instructions, seed bags, and an eye-catching design. Each of these roles required excellent record keeping, as working chnage every year.
