Hi, I'm Ashley. I help people show up as their wisest, best selves at their worst moments. I stumbled into entrepreneurship back in 2011 while suffocating under my own crippling fear of failure. Outside of a few Silicon Valley types telling us all to "fail fast and break things", at the time, no one was talking about failure, let alone how to harness it to improve performance and resilience. So, I started Fail Forward, knowing a healthy relationship with failure would change everything. And yeah, I probably needed it more than anyone. But my deep appreciation for how hard it is to fail intelligently is my secret sauce; it's what makes me exceptionally good at helping others transform their relationship with failure too. My favourite thing is helping teams lean in to their courage, compassion, and curiosity to breakthrough their messiest issues and cultural transformation needs, coming out the other side stronger and wiser. In my toolkit you'll find 15+ years of facilitation and consulting experience including innovation theory, agile and lean approaches, design thinking, human-centred design, systems thinking, storytelling, psychological safety, valuing diverse perspectives, obsessive enthusiasm for feedback in pursuit of learning and growth, and proficiency with all the technologies and collaborations platforms that allow those things to happen in virtual and hybrid environments. I write a bunch (Globe and Mail Leadership Lab, Public Sector Digest, World Economic Forum Agenda) and get written about even more (Harvard Business Review, Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Fast Company, Rising Strong by Brené Brown). I won the ridiculously named Harvard Business Review and McKinsey Innovating Innovation Challenge for starting this work, and am the unparalleled champion at asking uncomfortable questions, dive-bar karaoke, and finding the exact right sized Tupperware for the amount of leftovers. Here's how I can help you:• Memorable and immersive customized workshops that address core barriers to learning and innovation and translate into real behaviour and mindset shifts• Executive coaching to help leaders create the organizational culture they want and need• Business process and strategy consulting to ensure your organization's structures continuously reinforce a healthy relationship with failure• Skillfully facilitated difficult and strategic conversations for group learning and productive action Forever delighted to chat about resilience, learning, failure and innovation, you can reach me at ashley@failforward.org
