FAME/REFS 2.0Single-handedly rewrote the FAME/REFS system to improve reliability, maintainability, and user experience. FAME/REFS 2.0 provides a much more user friendly design that allows filings to be created and submitted to OIR much more quickly than before. Written using modern software design patterns to create a much more maintainable application. Utilizes the latest in HTML5 with Typescript and CSS technologies to provide enhanced user experiences on modern browsers. Uses nHibernate to decouple the application from the database backend. Version 1 of FAME/REFS took seven man-years to complete, whereas I completed version 2.0, a complete rewrite and design overhaul in less than two years. Long Range EstimatingTeam member of 4 person team responsible for implementation of high priority enhancements to DOT’s Long Range Estimating (LRE) system. This core application is used by the Deparment to devise and maintain estimates for use with its “Five Year Plan.” Through extensive data mining of existing pricing data, DOT employees are able to develop accurate cost models for proposed projects with a relatively small amount of inputted data. Worked with DOT staff as well as DOT contractors to design, develop, and deploy high priority enhancements to this system.Technologies Utilized: Classic ASP, Oracle 9i-10gData Quality Reports/UpdatesSole developer of application used by DOT IT Administrators to ensure coherent and consistent data within the various databases utilized by a myriad of DOT Line of Business applications. Analysis of FAME/REFSConducted extensive analysis of the Financial Analysis and Monitoring/EDMS system for OIR to determine several possible solutions for improving the existing system. Research was conducted to determine feasibility of a Microsoft Office SharePoint Services 2007 solution for replacing FAME, as well as several options for improving the system in place. Worked with OIR staff as well as existing consultants. Coordinated extensively with OIR staff during research. Final report produced individually. Progress Monitoring and Reporting Network Version 3 Team member of a 10 - 15 person team responsible for developing an extensive update to the existing PMRN ASP.NET website, including moving from ASP.NET 2.0 to ASP.NET 3.5. Worked closely with FCRR staff to design, develop, implement, and test the interfaces used by Kindergarten through Second Grade teachers and staff throughout the state of Florida for entry of reading and literacy tests administered to all students in the state as part of Florida's ongoing compliance with the No Child Left Behind Act. Created innovative HTML and CSS based interface that simulated the "Freeze Panes" feature of Microsoft Excel in a cross-browser, Section 508 compliant manner. Worked closely with Senate Committee Administrative staff to produce Functional Design documentation for Committee Meetings module. Developed Technical Design documentation as well as participating in the development of this Windows Forms based application. Also produced reports utilized by Committee Administrative staff for use in producing Committee Meeting Notices, Attendance Records, Expanded Agenda, Packets, and Calendars.Worked closely with the Office of Legislative Information Technology Services to design, develop, implement, and test the Senate Leagis Integration interfaces. These components interfaced with the House Leagis .NET system, as well as existing VB6 and Mainframe applications and services. Responsible for working with other developers designing and developing how the new system and legacy would communicate and interface. Office of Insurance Regulation, State of Florida – FAME Phase IITeam member of an 11 man team responsible for developing a complete rewrite of the Office of Insurance software utilized to facilitate financial analysis of insurance companies operating in the State of Florida. Responsible for a large portion of the ASP.NET website utilized by Insurance Industry filers to submit filings. Documents submitted via this website were reviewed via an ASP.NET Intranet site. Filenet was utilized for document storage and retrieval as well as workflow. Created tabbed-interface for Administrative functionality using JavaScript to minimize server resource utilization. Wrote Oracle Stored Procedures, including those used for an ASP.NET Web Service to provide a standard interface to insurance company information for any newly developed applications at OIR.Technologies Utilized: C# 1.1, ASP.NET, Oracle 10g, JavaScript, FilenetOffice of Insurance Regulation, State of Florida – FAME Phase IIISole provider of services on this phase of the FAME project, providing complete maintenance and support.
