As School Admissions Manager, I manage a team of staff delivering an efficient and effective service for all student admissions and intake activities within an academic School. I represent the School of Social Sciences and the departments of Law, Economics, Sociology, Social Anthropology, Social Statistics and Philosophy, within the Faculty of Humanities. Within my role I oversee the management and facilitation of the applications and admissions processes to undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes across a number of Departments,ensuring that students receive a fair, professional and effective service.I input into the development of the Faculty's strategy, policies and procedures for admissions and intake activities, taking responsibility for thematic areas of activity across the Faculty. Working closely and collaborating with the Student Marketing and Recruitment Team, I ensure that there is a seamless applicant experience and that strategy, policies and procedures for Student Recruitment, Admissions and Intake are aligned.

- Developing and implementing effective recruitment and conversion plans to meet the academic departments ambitions for student numbers, diversity and social responsibility (widening participation) - Developing and delivering recruitment activities both on and off campus for key student markets and stakeholders in the UK and Overseas - Managing relationships with stakeholders and engaging them within recruitment and conversion activities as appropriate - Providing management information, including recommendations for action, to inform the strategic operation of recruitment and admissions- Overseeing the implementation by all key staff of university regulations, policies and procedures relating to recruitment and admissions, ensuring compliance- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvements of processes and systems - To foster close working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including academic staff, Faculties and Central departments - Delivering Tier 4 compliance in an admissions context, analysing and obtaining historic admissions data, monitoring progress to intake target and modelling the predicted intake quality

The School of Mathematics is one of the largest mathematics schools in the UK, with more than 1,000 undergraduates, 150 postgraduates and 90 academic members of staff.Within my role as Senior Admissions Officer my responsibilities included: - Responsibility for the Postgraduate Taught admissions procedure within the School of Mathematics. - Responsibility for ensuring that the PGT Admissions process is carried out effectively within the school.- Providing leadership and training in the PGT Admissions processes within the School.- Line management, supervision, training and development of admissions staff.- Dealing with complex enquiries, and being the focal point of contact for PGT Admissionsissues within the school, from both internal and external stakeholders. - Managing and developing recruitment and conversion campaigns to attract the best candidates globally.

Alliance Manchester Business School was established in 1965 as one of the UK's first two business schools. Today, they are the UK's largest campus-based business and management school and are part of a small and select group of institutions worldwide that is accredited by all three major bodies - AACSB International, AMBA and EQUIS.Within my role as Masters Admissions Officer my responsibilities included:- To act as a main focal point for applicants and enquirers to the School’s postgraduate programmes. This required specialist knowledge of the PGT programmes to explain the admissions process, requirements and structure of the programmes, and to offer advice on the programme most appropriate to the applicants’ needs. - To check and assess qualifications and institutions and make informed decisions on applications- To administer the admissions process for applicants to the School’s postgraduate programmes, working in line with admissions targets (turn-around targets, student quality targets, student recruitment targets etc.) focusing on exceptional customer service. - To attend promotional activities in the School and in the UK or overseas to explain the application process and promote the benefits of the Manchester postgraduate portfolio.

Within this role my responsibilities included: - Developing, recruiting and overseeing students in community projects - Developing a programme of community based activities for students in Halls of Residences, working with Hall wardens- Supervising student volunteering events - Developing volunteer administration systems - Liaising with multi agency partners and community groups, including Greater Manchester Police, Manchester City Council and other external stakeholders- Managing student communications, utilising both online and print media- Supporting community events and representing the University at community meetings
