Accounting Specialist
CurrentAccounting Functions:-Perform daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.-Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data.-Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.-Prepare and analyze financial reports for management review.-Collaborate with Controller to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.Payroll Administration:-Process bi-weekly payroll for employees using Quickbooks. -Calculate and record payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments.-Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations regarding payroll taxes and reporting.-Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and resolve any discrepancies.-Maintain accurate records of employee timekeeping and attendance.Compliance and Reporting:-Stay updated on changes to accounting standards, tax regulations, and labour laws.-Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for regulatory compliance.-Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits.Process Improvement:-Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and payroll processes and implement best practices.-Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
