Facilitate a Bounce Back Retention Program under advisement and supervision of a Psy.D doctoral candidate, which provides differentiated academic and interpersonal intervention during weekly sessions, which resulted in an increased rate of attrition for learners at risk of withdrawal. Write copy for the University of Colorado Boulder publication, CU Boulder Today as a representative of CU Counseling and Psychiatric Services for the “Ask the Expert” series on mental health. Provide education to support to student leaders from a variety of coalitions on suicide prevention through our unique Ask the Question pilot series and engage over 1,000 students in the Live Free Weekend Event aimed at reducing stigma of sobriety within the collegiate population.

Collaborate with secondary educators to develop unique ELA curricula focusing on the poetics of pop and hip hop lyrics. Facilitate classroom visits and instruction to ignite interest in the analysis of poetry using popular music. Using innovative and socially-conscious lesson plans, the CU RAP Lab visits primary and secondary classrooms to engage students in poetic analysis, craft, and performance. The Hip Hop/Pop in the Classroom Initiative supports the development of skills at the standard and advanced level while reinvigorating the classroom environment by integrating popular music and innovative lesson design.

As an administrative assistant, I engage in daily correspondence with health care professionals regarding the needs of patients, insurance providers, and medical staff. Tasks include daily operations such as scheduling appointments, coordinating patient care with colleagues, and providing support for neurologists, medical assistants, and the administrative team as needed. I enjoy working as an administrative assistant for Colorado Neurodiagnostics because of the opportunity to interact with patients of various backgrounds and ability while learning professional skills- such as appropriate bedside manner, increasing knowledge of the neurological medical field, and developing professional, supportive relationships with individuals in recovery.
