• Work directly with Design, PD and Production to understand and execute all seasonal fabric developments that meet design aesthetic requirements and are in line with sourcing strategy and cost targets.• Translate design aesthetic/sourcing needs as direction for fabric mills & vendors.• Drive innovation and new ideas through RM sourcing / textile shows and development in partnership with fabric mills & vendors.• Travel domestic and international to attend textiles shows and meet with vendors at their offices to review future or current development.• Counter-source qualities with other vendors for more competitive pricing lead time and/or execution.• Maintain development calendar/ fabric development chart and ensure deadlines are met for SMS fabric development and approvals.• Submit, track and maintain all lab dips, handlooms and strike offs. Reviewing all with design for comments and approvals.• Calculate SMS yardage usage for each fabrication per color and place SMS fabric/trim PO’s.• Track all SMS yardage to ensure calendar deadlines are met.• Build and maintain fabric and trim library.• Maintain PLM/Full Circle/etc. with fabric info.• Provide input & expertise to Design, PD and Production teams regarding fabric construction, fabric content, and finishing techniques to ensure best fabric price and quality outcome.• Maintain relationships with vendors and schedule seasonal appointments prior to development.• Participate in weekly cross functional meetings.• Communicate & elevate potential quality issues by reviewing test reports. Troubleshoot and recommend options to solve any issues before bulk.• Oversee/maintain all fabric approvals with design (hand feel, color, construction) before passing to bulk team.• Maintain seasonal fabric binders with fabric/trim spec sheets, approved SMS fabric swatches, lab dips, strike offs, etc. that are passed to bulk fabric team at end of development.• Request/maintain all fabric spec info from vendors.
