Ashley Killough is a field producer and certified drone pilot who covers national news in Texas and beyond, primarily working with CNN Senior National Correspondent Ed Lavandera. She previously worked as a Congressional producer for CNN in Washington with a focus on the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to Capitol Hill, Ashley covered the field of Republican candidates in the 2016 presidential race as an embed for two years, ending on Donald Trump's campaign. Since joining the network in 2011, she's held a variety of writing, editing, producing, and reporting roles covering domestic news across multiple platforms. Ashley is graduate of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, as well as Baylor University, where she double-majored in journalism and international studies. Before graduate school, she spent a year in Armenia on a Fulbright grant working on journalistic projects. A lover of the outdoors, she's trying to visit every national park in the country. But when she's not traveling, she's curled up at home with a novel and her dog, Jolene.
