After being promoted to the Specialist role, I was the lead of marketing and business development endeavors of my assigned legal practice and industry groups which included: Insurance Recovery & Counseling; Civil Rights Insurance Recovery; Intellectual Property Litigation; Financial Services; and the Financial Services Industry Group. My responsibilities were often different every day and involved different strategic business development approaches pertaining to each group.

As a BD Coordinator, I provided tactical support to the BD Manager in the implementation and execution of a wide variety of business development efforts, including pitch support, content development and updates, research, events logistics, practice group coordination, project management, etc. The practice groups I supported (at various times) under the supervision of the BD Manager included: Employment & Labor; Franchise & Distribution; Insurance Recovery & Counseling; Litigation & Dispute Resolution; and Trusts, Estates & Legacy Planning.(On January 1, 2020, Lathrop Gage combined with Gray Plant Mooty to form Lathrop GPM.)

In my former role as a load tenderer for Smithfield Foods, I controlled the movement of freight out of our distribution center and plants in the state of Kansas. This involved building relationships/communicating with carriers while holding contracted carriers responsible to take their weekly freight awards. For me to be successful each day, I had to collaborate with product schedulers, in-house brokers, my team's planner, and shippers with the goal of delivering product to customers on time in the most cost-efficient way possible. I also worked to solve various trucking issues as they arose daily (i.e. load recoveries, address requests for late loads, etc.) as well as negotiated with third party brokers if unable to find asset-based carriers.

I developed exceptional time management skills by dedicating 25+ hours/week to practices, conditioning, meetings, and matches in addition to team travel and being a full-time student. Additionally, I learned to work well in pressured team environments using effective communication, conflict management skills and a winning mentality. As a summer soccer coach for the Milwaukee Wave Indoor Men's Professional team, I trained and supervised my own assigned team of 13-16 children within a given age group each week. While this job was very rewarding because it allowed me to give back my knowledge of soccer to kids, it was also exciting to be coaching alongside Milwaukee Wave Players and other talented collegiate athletes. At the end of each week's camp, the coaches all assessed the soccer skills of their players and handed them back written evaluations of their strengths and weaknesses.(Position held seasonally from June-July 2015 and June-July 2016.)

Under the women's Chicago Red Stars professional soccer team umbrella, I was invited to travel the Midwest with their reserve team to stay in shape during the summer after my sophomore year for my next collegiate soccer season. There was a lot of traveling back and forth from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Oakbrook, Illinois that summer as I had 3 practices a week in Oakbrook (as well as games over the weekends) and workouts along with balancing my coaching job in Milwaukee. However, it was all worth it once we won the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) National Championship in Oklahoma City.

As a summer sales associate for an EXPRESS Top 100 store in between my freshman and sophomore years of college, I worked in a fast-paced retail environment with the goal of solving the customer's clothing needs in a friendly and positive manner. Some of my responsibilities included giving fashion and sizing advise to customers, ensuring a quick and efficient check out experience at the register, and creating a neat and organized presentation of the store.
