I am currently a student at Texas Tech Rawls College of Business, pursuing an energy commerce degree. I have always had a passion for speaking with others and using my communication skills to accomplish a goal. My communication skills have over time helped me develop my problem-solving skills. I am able to use these communication skills to navigate through difficult situations using my words instead of getting hostile or frustrated. I continually go the extra mile to seek out new and better solutions to different kinds of problems I may run into. In addition, I have always been a natural leader. I like to work alongside of my peers, using my leadership skills to help a team be successful. I have used these skills efficiently and effectively during my previous work experiences as a restaurant hostess and party hostess. Likewise, these skills and my motivation to always be the best I can be have led me to be very successful. My accomplishments include, but are not limited to: receiving an award for all state, all district, academic excellence in physics and receiving the presidential scholarship from Texas Tech University plus other outside scholarships. My technical skills include public speaking, leadership and computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint. However, I am always trying to improve my current skills and develop others. My long-term goal is to work for a company where my current skills can be put to use and where new skills can be developed. I want to work in an environment where I am constantly faced with new challenges that will help me grow and expand my knowledge.
