I graduated from UMass Amherst with a Bachelor's in Psychology in 2020 during the height of the covid-19 pandemic with an ambition to work in mental healthcare. I began as a Community Residence Counselor (CRC) at the McLean Southeast ART, an acute residential treatment facility for adolescents aged 13-18. Within my first year, I became a CRC shift lead while also teaching dialectical behavioral therapy skills as an Adolescent Clinical Educator. After about a year and a half, I joined McLean's psychiatric intake office as an Admissions Coordinator, arranging inpatient hospitalizations for those needing mental health and substance abuse treatment. We work closely with the Clinical Evaluation Center to facilitate crisis stabilization admissions and provide psychiatric assessments. This multifaceted role involves efficiently evaluating potential patients' clinical, medical, and financial appropriateness for admission to McLean Hospital. I was recently promoted to Admissions Coordinator II, an advancement that showcases a deep knowledge and mastery of the hospital workflow.
