Ashley Losoya currently works on the digital team at ColdSpark after spending several years as a freelance writer for political candidates, elected officials, and state government organizations.Prior to this, she served as Director of Communications for Nevada Lieutenant Governor Mark Hutchison. As the main point of contact for all media, Ashley hit the ground running as her first day on the job was just hours after the horrific 1 October shooting on the Las Vegas strip. From CNN to Fox News, she coordinated interviews with the Lt. Governor, preparing him for each appearance. This role also required her to craft speeches, press releases, op-eds, social media content, and a daily operations brief for staff. Ashley began her career at KCEN-HD News, reporting and anchoring for an Emmy nominated morning show. During her time in Waco, Ashley reported on the front lines of national stories, including the Twin Peaks biker gang shooting, 2014 Fort Hood shooting, and the spread of the Ebola virus to Texas. From Waco, Ashley moved back to her home state to anchor the morning news at KION in Monterey, California. As a co-producer, Ashley contributed to the crafting and writing of each morning newscast while also managing the station’s social media presence overnight and into the morning. Ashley completed her M.S. in Broadcast & Digital Journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
