Playing an essential part in the logistical organisation of shipping vehicles internationally (usually a group of 30+ vehicles at a time, across multiple countries), this role comprises of engaging with a global customer base daily, setting their expectations and discussing the information required for themselves and their vehicles, including deadlines, documentation, travel requirements and much more. In addition, working with shipping agents and customs brokers across the globe, obtaining quotes and compiling entire shipping budgets to create a final quotation for the customer and their vehicle. Furthermore, creating shipping deadlines and determining the most suitable and reliable shipping routes to ensure vehicles are in transit for the shortest time possible.Generally, we'll have 3 or more events being planned at any one time, with over 120 individual vehicles and customers. This creates a unique skill of being able to balance work loads incredibly efficiently, along with attention to detail and high levels of organisation to ensure even the smallest element or document is not overlooked.With all of the logistical elements in place, and the vehicles on route to destination, its time to take the skies myself. Travelling to the event location, I arrive in advance of the customer and begin to prepare all of the formalities to ensure a smooth arrival of the vehicles. This includes scouting warehousing facilities and building relationships with the local agents, visiting customs houses and officials to prempt the incoming workloads - more often than not in another language - touching base with the event accomodations and arranging the arrival of 30+ cars as well as any other, often unforeseen occurrences upon arrival such as shipping delays or last-minute vehicle malfunctions.
