Appointed to the position of External Trustee at GCU Students' Association, an award winning organisation representing over 17,000 students. The trustee board responsibilities include:- Has ultimate responsibility for setting the strategic direction of the Students’ Association, ensuring it is solvent, well‐run, meets its mission, vision and values and delivers its charitable purposes- Must ensure that the Students’ Association complies with its Constitution, the Education Act 1994, University Code of Practice and relevant charity law.- Must maintain and regularly review the Students’ Association internal controls, performance reporting, policies and procedures- Must act prudently to protect the assets and property of the Students’ Association, and ensure that they are only used to deliver the purposes of the charity- Must regularly review the risks to which the Students’ Association is subject, and take action to mitigate risks identified- Must uphold and apply the principles of equality and diversity, and that the Students’ Association is fair and open to all sections of the membership in all its activities

Client assignments included the development and implementation of risk management frameworks and policies; the development of ERM operating models; facilitating risk reviews; business continuity plan reviews; and the provision of risk management training and guidance. Business Development activities include international travel to meet with potential clients; proposal writing; the use of customer relationship management (CRM) software; participation in the development of marketing strategies. I also carried out performance evaluations and identified staff development needs. I worked with our global ERM solutions leaders to develop our global brand.

The roles included responsibilities such as: • Developing and implementing a suitable risk management process to ensure that an auditable risk process was followed by all parties• Provision of Risk Management Guidance to Project Teams• Preparation of procurement contract documentation for Major Projects• Risk Modelling (using various software such as Active Risk Manager, @Risk, Predict! and RiskHive ERM)• Design and delivery of monthly Risk Reporting to show Target Cost Risk Allocation, Risk Draw Downs and Compensation Events, Current Residual Risk Exposure and Forecast Risk Outturn Variance

This part time role was carried out whilst studying for MSc Risk Management within the project controls department proving risk support to a range of projects within the oil and gas industry.
