I graduated summa cum laude from Binghamton University in May 2024, which is consistently ranked among the top public schools in New York State. As a Political Science and English Rhetoric double major with a minor in Writing Studies, I have acquired and improved my skills in writing, research, and analysis. In addition to my academics, my extracurricular activities also granted me experience that I believe would be very valuable for this internship. For example, Model United Nations allowed me to conduct research, but it has also importantly taught me how to conduct research into topics that I may not have previously been particularly interested in. Also, my role as the Social Media Manager for the club Bridge@Bing granted me experience in public relations. One of my responsibilities was to assist with planning events for the club. I designed flyers to post on social media and aided the Vice President of Outreach in keeping in contact with members of the club via email. I am also on the board for TOPSoccer, a program where volunteers assist special needs children in the community with playing soccer, as an Assistant Coach. This makes me responsible for attending, planning, and overseeing weekly practices. I have also previously contributed to the student-run newspaper at Binghamton University. I also hold the position of National Politics Reporter for the student-run political science magazine. For this, I have to reach out to relevant individuals and arrange interviews to be conducted by myself. I also learned how to write in the AP format, which I previously did not have much experience in. Additionally, I enrolled and received an A in a journalism class, which further strengthened these skills. Another skill that I’ve acquired is leadership. I have been a lifeguard at a large summer camp for five summers, with the last summer being a Lead Guard. This required me to supervise a pool of lifeguards and oversee swim instruction, manage pool rotations, and monitor breaks.
