In this part-time role, I oversaw all external marketing and communications for the foundation. • Served as creative director, responsible for brand development and the visual appearance of all SDSCF marketing materials • Edited the foundation’s website, blog, social media, newsletters, and marketing emails• Established and managed the foundation's CRM system• Managed our external PR firm, collaborating on media pitches to promote SDSCF’s impact • Launched the No Senior Alone campaign to raise $1 million for isolated seniors during COVID-19. Generated extensive earned media and brand awareness for the foundation, which was able to award its first grants with the funds raised.• Managed the design, distribution and promotion of the San Diego Senior Center Assessment report, which earned significant media attention and laid the groundwork for initial discussions into building new senior centers around the county.

• Provided systems engineering and technical advisory services to the Navy's Submarine Integration Program Office, PEO C4I PMW 770. • Worked directly with government representatives in requirements development, system specification, testing, verification and fielding of communications technology for employment on submarines subject to federal acquisition regulations. • Worked in liaison with external program offices and agencies to ensure systems are developed to meet submarine requirements.• Coordinated annual submissions to obtain congressional funding for submarine communications programs via the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process. • Provided technical and administrative support to Lean Six Sigma project teams within PMW 770.

Uss Nimitz (Cvn-68)

• As Assistant Reactor Training Officer, directed the shipboard training program for 450+ nuclear operators. Set training goals and developed lectures, seminars, drills and exams to ensure goals were accomplished. Guided the training and qualification of junior plant supervisors and prospective Nuclear Engineer Officers. Prepared and delivered over 100 hours of lectures and seminars.• As Reactor Laboratories Division Officer, supervised 35 technicians in operational water chemistry and radiological controls activities associated with two nuclear propulsion plants through a maintenance availability, training cycle and deployment in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom (OEF-OIF). Administered maintenance of mechanical systems, lab equipment and radiation detectors. Managed shipboard Radioactive Material, Dosimetry, and Radiological Controls Audit Programs.• Successfully passed Naval Reactors examination to qualify as a Nuclear Engineer Officer.• Ranked as one of Nimitz’s top Propulsion Plant Watch Officers–the shift supervisors in charge of all nuclear propulsion plant operations with command of watch teams numbering 30+ personnel.• Awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for superior performance of duties.• Collateral Duty: Reactor Department Security Manager.

Charleston, South Carolina Area

Completed the Navy's intensive, year-long nuclear engineering training program, finishing in the top 10% of my class academically, and becoming the first in my class to qualify to operate a nuclear submarine propulsion plant.

Uss Jarrett (Ffg-33)

• As First Lieutenant on USS JARRETT (FFG-33), supervised 45 enlisted men in the performance of underway replenishment, docking, anchoring and small boat evolutions through a six-month OEF-OIF deployment. • Administered maintenance and preservation of the ship’s hull, ground tackle, small boat, underway replenishment equipment, damage control gear, life-saving equipment, helicopter hangars, flight deck and aviation equipment through a shipyard overhaul, resulting in a successful assessment by the Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV). • As Public Affairs Officer, developed layout, wrote original copy, and photographed shipboard operations, events and crew portraits for an 80-page cruise book. Reported on deployment achievements and special events in articles published in Navy magazines and newspapers. Praised by JARRETT’s Commanding Officer as the best PAO he’d had in two command tours.• Qualified Officer of the Deck and Surface Warfare Officer. • Ranked No. 1 out of 13 first-tour division officers aboard Jarrett.• Awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for superior performance of duties. • Collateral Duties: Repair Locker Officer, Search and Rescue Officer.
