I have worked in the design industry since 2002 when I interned with Ethan Allen and then continued with retail home furnishings sales before I started as a Junior Designer with The Interior Edge, a small residential firm, in 2005. I learned all aspects of the business from that job and was involved in everything from space planning, design development and material selection to estimates and purchase orders to client meetings, individual consultations and installations and staging photo shoots. In the summer of 2007 I interned with Dupoux Designs on a hotel called Sole East, located in Montauk, NY. I lived on-site and helped with the design, decoration and set up of the entire hotel and restaurant. I also had a hand in the artwork for the signage.After graduating in December 2007 with my BFA in Interior Design from the F.I.D.E.R accredited Fashion Institute of Technology, I took a full-time position with SOSH Architects, a hospitality and entertainment Architecture firm located in New York City. I was involved in several large scale projects, including two casinos, a resort in the Middle East and a convention center in Newark, NJ. Through these projects I was able to get experience in space planning, design development, FF&E Specification writing, construction and millwork documents, and Master Planning.I currently work as a Project Manager for Beyer Brown, a procurement firm for the hospitality industry. Projects have included hotels ranging from brand standard hotels to luxury resorts, casinos, restaurants and theaters. . I have been with Beyer Brown for over two years and in the hospitality purchasing industry for 8 years.
