With multiple years of experience in nursing, emergency telecommunications, and various supervisory roles, I strive to make our community an enjoyable place to live. Working in pediatrics, I saw firsthand how valuable preventative care is not only to the individual patient, but also to the community overall health. Working collaboratively with my provider to advocate the importance of vaccinations was a passion of mine. This experience provided me the catalyst to pursue an opportunity in public health. Through my work at the health department throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been provided the unique opportunity to participate in the planning, implementation, review and evaluation of the Eau Claire COVID-19 call center and contact tracing team. I have assisted with the collection, reporting, and analyzing of data obtained through WEDSS and internal tracking apparatuses that are the basis of effective and efficient programs to control the spread. Environmental Public Health allows me to harness both my love for people and the environment. I am an ISFJ-T Defender on a Personality Scale which means I am a very dedicated and warm protector who is always ready to defend my loved ones be it family, friends, co-workers or those who live in my community. My experiences have provided me with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with extraordinary people skills. Being an intern at the Health Department at the start of a pandemic has allowed to me to obtain an understanding of public health practices and principles including levels of prevention, collaboration, and social justice, that are unparalleled. With my exclusive background, I can bring a passion to the department that is essential to making our community thrive.
