As a member of the Management Team, Canadian Base Operators is a contractor for the Department of the National Defense. I am responsible for all aspects of Human Resources for over 90 employees which includes non-union employees and the United Association HVAC and Refrigeration Pipefitters Local Union. Duties include but not limited to: • Mentorship Program: Created and maintained ongoing training to employees who wish to train new employees or transitioning employees into various roles. Creating this program has assisted with succession planning and influenced ongoing growth and development of employees.• Managing all short term and long term disability claims: From onset of illness until full return to work. Arranging modified duties when it was safe to do so. Worked with Managers and Employees together to ensure the return to work process was followed to ensure a full and safe return to work.• Recruitment & Selection: Creating and posting jobs, collaborated with Managers for applicant selection. Interviewed applicants with Managers. Conducted reference checks. Assisted selecting the best candidate with the Manager. Creating offer letters for distribution by the Manager. Obtaining new employee forms and ensures attendance at orientation.• New Employee Orientation: Educate new employees on expectations, policies and procedures of Canadian Base Operators. • Health & Safety: Work with the Health and Safety Advisor to ensure employees are working in a safe environment. Address any health and safety concerns.• Policies & Procedures: Develop and modify policies and procedures in accordance with the Employment Standards Act and Company changes.• Performance Management: Assists Managers and Supervisors with employee issues regarding job performance and developing improvement plans. Supports Managers with coaching and progressive discipline.• Benefits Administration• Labour Relations: Interpreting the Collective Agreement to ensure full compliance is being met
