As a certified and experienced Emergency Manager, Adult Educator, and Fire Services Professional, Ashley continues to express passion and dedication to public service through relationship building, partnership development, and collaboration with specialized training, project management, and leadership initiatives across Turtle Island. A Municipality does not face the same challenges as a First Nation Community, so why do we prepare as though we do? Through lived experience, professional development, and unique humanitarian-focused experiences, Ashley has had the fortunate opportunity to raise a beautiful family in areas considered as “remote” First Nations Communities. Ashley continues the journey as an ally successfully offering a unique perspective through demonstrated contributions to the Fire, Disaster, and Emergency Services in First Nations communities. With continued emphasis on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Ashley plans to travel the long path in the Disaster and Emergency Services. Ashley encourages colleagues to leverage his inherent privilege to place a priority on training and education through an "indigenous lens" while focusing on collaboration to prioritize preparation, prevention, response, recovery, and the mitigation of fires, disasters, and emergencies in your home community.
